Pervouralsky Novotrubny Plant (JSC "PNTZ" is a part of Chelpipe Group), in the framework of improving the operating efficiency of pipe billet production, has upgraded the equipment of continuous casting machine in Electric Furnace Melting Shop "Iron Ozone 32". The equipment allows you to increase the speed of movement of pipe billets of various lengths with a higher volume of steel casting per hour, which will increase the volume of output by more than 15%. The integration of the new transfer skid into the machine system and its functionality also made it possible to update the process of selecting a pipe billet depending on its size, optimizing the time and quantity of raw materials for a single melting. Previously, "Iron Ozone 32" implemented a digital algorithm to help steelworkers optimize production and reduce losses during raw material consumption, and created a comprehensive digital solution for tracking ferromaterials that are used for pipe billet production.
Also in 2020, the plant improved the process of labeling finished products and implemented a project on accounting for finished products:
1) a specialized needle-impact system "MIG" is installed, which allows you to apply a trademark and the necessary data to tubing pipes: diameter, number, strength group, wall thickness, month and year of production;
2) the plant launched a mobile application for automatic counting of pipes in stacks and packages based on the technology of object recognition in the image.
Currently, JSC "PNTZ" has set up production of a new type of stainless steel pipes. New cold-formed pipes with a diameter of 42 mm and a wall thickness of 2 mm made of corrosion-resistant martensitic stainless steel have high strength and low plastic properties. The first batch of pipes with a volume of 1,050 meters is already used in production of one of the largest machine-building plants in Russia, and the second batch with a volume of 1,034 meters is planned to be shipped by the end of August.
