Within the framework of the Rosstandart Open Day project on March 27, 2024, under the leadership of the Deputy General Director for Science of Business Trend LLC M.P.Polikarpov, third-year students of the Standardization and Certification faculty of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) (MP group 21-06) as part of an organized delegation visited Federal State Budgetary Institution "Russian Institute of Standardization" and Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rostest-Moscow".
At the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Russian Institute of Standardization", students were introduced to general structure, goals and objectives of the head institute of Rosstandart, as part of the discussion presentations were made on topical issues and prospects for the development of technical regulation and standardization system in the Russian Federation, on the system of integrated information support in the field of technical regulation, on the Youth Olympiad of Standards.
The excursion program included a visit to the Federal Information Standards Fund. 
In the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rostest-Moscow", students were told and shown first-hand how the unity, accuracy and reliability of measurements are ensured by testing, verification and calibration of measuring instruments.
The excursion program covered wide horizons of history and technology: from the museum exposition of rare measuring instruments to modern laboratories of the Metrological Complex and the Testing Center of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Rostest-Moscow, equipped with high-precision measuring systems and testing equipment.
The students were shown the work of the "Hermitage" stationary Flow calibration unit, a workplace for checking industrial gas meters and the practical application of the "Testo 420" gas flow meter. 
In the laboratories of the Testing Center of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Rostest-Moscow, students were demonstrated basic equipment used for conducting sensory and physico-chemical, chromatographic and spectral testing methods; testing of products and materials for household and industrial purposes and packaging.
During the visit to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Russian Institute of Standardization" and the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rostest-Moscow", students of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) had the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of representatives of different professions in a working environment, talk to managers and tehcnical specialists and get answers to their questions.
An important component of the visit to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Russian Institute of Standardization" and the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rostest-Moscow" was the discussion of the organization of practices and internships at the sites of these institutions, as well as employment prospects and scientific activities.
Following the results of the event, all participating parties stressed the undoubted benefits of such a "live" acquaintance with real practical work and expressed their wishes to continue the useful practice of the Rosstandart Open Day in the future.
