Construction of the plant began in 1965 and on October 29, 1969, with the help of specialists from Czechoslovakia, the first large-diameter pipe in the USSR (1020 mm) was manufactured. On February 27, 1970, the state Commission commissioned the first stage of the electric welded pipe shop complex - this date became the birthday of JSC “VTZ”.
In the following years, the company mastered the production of welded spiral-jointed, hot-rolled and seamless pipes, opened an electric steel shop, which became the largest specialized complex in the USSR, allowing the smelting of steel of any grade as well as plant have mastered technologies of applying various types of coatings.
In 2002, JSC “VTZ” became a part of the Pipe metallurgical company (TMK) and a new stage of development of the company began: Large-scale reconstruction of the steelmaking and rolling mills took place: new facilities for the production of longitudinally welded large diameter pipes, seamless pipes of oil assortment, developed dozens of new products with high performance properties were built during that time.
In 2019, the plant mastered the production of stainless steel pipes from continuous cast billets of its proprietary production, and became the winner of the all-Russian competition "Exporter of the year".
Starting from 2003, LLC "Business Trend" is performing inspection in field of quality control and acceptance of pipe products for centralized PJSC "Gazprom" projects material requisitions. Resident inspection staff with required qualifications and equipment was stationed at JSC "VTZ" as well as a document flow and traceability system was established.

performs quality control and acceptance of pipe products at JSC "VTZ" for past 17 years: electric-welded spiral-jointed and straight-seam steel pipes with various types of coatings, hot-formed seamless steel pipes, oil and gas pipelines, casing pipes and couplings with various types of threaded connections, etc. for such Customers as PJSC Gazprom, PJSC Gazprom Neft, LLC Irkutsk Oil Company (INC), PJSC LUKOIL, LLC Gazprom drilling, etc.
On average, LLC "Business Trend" annually performs inspection of more than 32 thousand units of pipe products manufactured at JSC "VTZ", which is more than 512 thousand meters of pipes (512 km of pipeline, which equal to approximate distance from Moscow to Voronezh). During the past year, inspection of LLC "Business Trend" carried out quality control and acceptance of more than 100 thousand units of pipe products at JSC "VTZ".
