The regular conference "Gas Transport Systems 2019" was held in Gazprom – VNIIGAZ on October 23-25.
Reports of PJSC GAZPROM and leading pipe manufacturers in Russia, were presented at the conference: PJSC "OMK", PJSC "Severstal", CJSC "ZTZ", as well as institutes: Gazprom-VNIIGAZ, MISIS and others. The conference was held on several topics and directions.
During the conference, questions were raised on new technologies and materials, corrosion resistance, digitalization of the industry and many others.
On the topic of new materials and technologies following themes were discussed:
- development of new production processes;
- new steel grades for pipes and pressure vessels;
- welding of clad pipes and prospects of laser use;
- pipe products made of X100 steel grade and above;
- steel for vessels operating at temperatures up to -278°C and many others.
The conference was attended by Business Trend Technical Director M. P. Polikarpov and Head of Management Department R.V. Sulyagin. They voiced topical issues faced by the inspection at Vendor-companies, and during the round table discussion it was noted that it is necessary to adopt new standards for drop weight tear testing and revise standards for impact (Charpy) testing, as current regulations do not meet the requirements for modern steels.
