LUKOIL Group and Aggreko Eurasia have implemented a pilot gas drilling project in Russia. The use of the latest super-capacitor system has provided stabilization of the generator unit operation under an abruptly variable load. The use of this system has reduced the cost of power supply for drilling rigs by 50% and effectively disposed of associated petroleum gas, which was previously flared by the company due to the inability to operate. The project was implemented at Sredne-Nazymskoye field in Khanty-Mansi District.
In the future, the centralized gas power complex Aggreko plans to provide electricity not only to drilling facilities, but also to other infrastructure facilities: complexes for oil production, preparation and transportation, and social facilities.
